Welcome to the 1.15 Lite modpack! These are a handful of mods I put together for Minecraft 1.15. This pack is designed to be lightweight so it can hopefully run on laptops and "less buff" computers.
Installation Instructions
To install the modpack, you will need the following things:
- Minecraft (duh)
- Forge 1.15.2-31.1.27 (latest release, as of creation of this modpack)
- The mods (see below)
- The configs (link on side of page)
- The scripts (link on side of page)
- Optionally the recommended keybindings file (link on side of page)
- The server address (listed on side of page)
After installing Minecraft and the correct version of Forge, you must set up a launch profile. I recommend creating a new folder in the ".minecraft" directory ("C:\Users\<YourName>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft") - call it ".lite" or something like that. Then download the mods, configs and scripts, unzip the files, and place them in their appropriate folders (".lite/mods", ".lite/config", ".lite/scripts", respectively). There is also an options file with the recommended keybindings, which you can put directly in './lite'. Finally, start the Minecraft launcher, go to the "Installations" tab and click "New". Be sure to select the correct version of Forge, as well as the correct directory.
Some of the mods are client-only and you may wish to play without them. However, I can't guarantee which ones the server requires you to have, so I recommend starting with the pack as is before adding/removing client mods to your heart's content.
In addition, when you go to connect to the server, it will tell you your modlist isn't compatible - this is because the server doesn't take client mods. As long as the only differences are those client mods (whether part of the pack or other client-only mods you've added), you will be able to connect regardless of what the server says.
NOTE: Many of the mod developers have expressed a desire to get their mods from Curseforge so they can keep track of downloads, versions, etc. Since this is not a public server, per se, I have included the mod bundle as a download from here (technically against their wishes). However, to honor the mod creator, please consider using the links on the side of the page to download each mod individually.
Changes
Some of the mods are a bit OP, while others wholly consume your focus. Therefore I have tweaked just a few recipes to make some things a later-game unlock. I have attempted to preserve the purity and essence of both the mods and Vanilla MC. These changes include:
- Advanced Finders:
- Mineral Finder is now made with Tertium Ingots instead of Iron Ingots.
- Metal Finder is now made with Supremium Ingots instead of Gold Ingots.
- Gem Finder is now made with Insanium Gems instead of Diamonds.
- Mineral Finder also points to Inferium Ore and Soulium Ore.
- Metal Finder also points to Vulcanite Ore.
- Gem Finder also points to Prosperity Ore.
- Global XP:
- Original recipe was 1 emerald and 8 Iron Bars. New recipe requires 4 Iron Bars, 4 Diamond Ladders and 1 Master Infusion Crystal.
- Perhaps this was excessive, but this is basically an unlimited version of another mod (XP Tome), so I thought it right to obfuscate the recipe.
- Project E:
- Each piece of Dark Matter now requires a Vulcanite Block instead of a Diamond Block.
- The Collector Mk1 now requires Witherproof Glass and a Prudentium Furnace in place of regular Glass and a regular Furnace.
- Minecolonies:
- The Structure Tool is now required to craft the Supply Camp and Supply Ship.
- The Structure Tool is crafted with two Blaze Rods and a Gold Block, instead of two Sticks and a Cobblestone.
- Soul Shards Respawn:
- The Corrupted Ingot now calls for Vulcanite Ingots rather than Iron Ingots.
- Angel Ring:
- The Diamond Ring now requires Insanium Gemstones instead of Diamonds.
- The Angel Ring recipe replaces one of the Gold Blocks with a Nether Star.
Tips & Tricks
Here are some tips to get started and/or get the most out of the modpack:
- JEI is your friend - it will help you with most mods. Type @MODNAME in the search bar to see items just from that mod.
- Corail Tombstone has a robust perk/magic system hidden in their "Knowledge of Death" menu - look for the keybinding in the controls menu.
- Minecolonies, while deferred to later-game, will require a large area. You should find a relatively flat area, about 9 chunks by 9 chunks (shape and size flexible). Also, try to find somewhere with lots of resources (read: forest) nearby.
- Nature's Aura has a guidebook to guide you and unlock advanced parts of the mod. Check JEI for the recipe.
- Waystones occur naturally in every village!
- Backpack size increases dramatically with each upgrade.
- Backpacks can be accessed from anywhere in your inventory with the "Open Backpack" key.
- The dome/tunnel generators will completely fill the area, so run or suffocate while it's working.
- The book for Dimensional Dungeons is slightly unclear on portal placement. The center 'special' block is actually one block (y-level) above the two side ones.
- When inside a Dimensional Dungeon, you cannot break blocks, even in Creative Mode. Doing so may also break the map. Look around for extra special tricks to get to certain areas.
- To use Enchantibility, place certain enchanted books in the slots of an Ender Chest. The effect of each enchantment is listed in the tooltip for an enchanted book.
